TASHKENT, May 21. /Dunyo IA/.   The 10th meeting of the Uzbek-German Business Council was held in Tashkent, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was aimed at further expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation between the two countries, promoting new joint projects and strengthening practical dialogue between business communities.

The meeting was attended by Abdulla Aripov, Prime Minister of Uzbekistan and Co-Chairman of the Uzbek-German Business Council from the Uzbek side; Uwe Knotzer, Managing Partner of Knauf Group and Co-Chairman of the Council from the German side; Michael Harms, Director of the German Eastern Business Association and Manfred Huterer, German Ambassador to Uzbekistan.

The speakers emphasized that the economic partnership between Uzbekistan and Germany is developing consistently, and cooperation between companies of the two countries has reached a new level in recent years. The growing attention of German business circles to the Uzbek market was especially noted. It was highlighted that the economic reforms being implemented in the country, the favorable investment climate and infrastructure modernization processes create new opportunities for foreign investors.

The meeting of the Business Council, moderated by Michael Harms, focused on investment in the automotive industry, the IT sector, geology and industry. Presentations were delivered by representatives of companies and organizations including “Uzavtosanoat”, “Volkswagen”, “IT Park”, “Schwarz Digits”, “Henkel”, “CLAAS”, “Control Union”, “Telc”, “Ernst Klett Sprachen”, “Procab”, “Akfa Group”, “Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex” and “New Uzbekistan University”. Bilateral negotiations were also held during the event.

Within the framework of the negotiations, the parties discussed opportunities for implementing promising investment projects, introducing green technologies, improving energy efficiency, modernizing urban infrastructure and manufacturing building materials. Additionally, special attention was paid to the implementation of modern approaches in the construction and municipal sectors, the development of urban infrastructure, the use of energy-saving technologies, and the application of German experience in the practice of Uzbekistan.

Additionally, the parties exchanged views on the training of qualified personnel, the development of professional education, the introduction of innovative solutions and the expansion of practical cooperation with German companies. B2B meetings were held between representatives of the business communities of the two countries, during which they discussed the development of joint projects, the promotion of investment initiatives and the strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation.

The meeting of the Uzbek and German business communities will contribute to the further deepening of economic ties between the two countries, expanding the presence of German companies in the market of Uzbekistan, and implementing new investment projects.
