SANA, September 11. /Dunyo IA/.  Yemen’s “Al Montasaf” publication has published an analytical article on the transformation of Uzbek-South Korean relations from traditional trade to deep industrial and technological cooperation, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publication notes that the key priorities for the two sides include the localization of high-tech production, the creation of integrated value chains, and the deep processing of critical minerals, including copper, lithium and tungsten. The economic foundation is demonstrating strong growth: bilateral trade reached USD 1.8 billion in 2025, with a target of increasing it to USD 4 billion; Korean investment has exceeded USD 10 billion; and the number of joint ventures has grown to 1,000.

Successful examples of cooperation highlighted in the article include the “Uz-Kor Gas Chemical” joint venture, “ADM Jizzakh” automotive plant, “Posco International” textile projects and “Tashkent Pharma Park”. The partnership is supported by an increase in the concessional financing limit of the Economic Development and Cooperation Fund of the Republic of Korea (EDCF) to USD 2 billion, joint IT projects, as well as the training of specialists at branches of South Korean universities in Uzbekistan.

Article concludes by emphasizing that Uzbekistan’s experience is strengthening its role as a key technological hub in the region ahead of the first “Republic of Korea – Central Asia” Summit, scheduled to take place in Seoul on September 16–17^th, 2026.
