“Ammwaj”: Uzbekistan Assumes Chairmanship of CIS Tourism Council for 2026–2027

RIYADH, October 1. /Dunyo IA/. The Saudi electronic newspaper “Ammwaj” has published an article about Uzbekistan assuming the chairmanship of the Tourism Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) for 2026–2027, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The publication notes that the decision was adopted by participants of the regular meeting of the CIS Tourism Council held in Dushanbe. The move is aimed at strengthening multilateral cooperation and developing joint projects among the CIS member states.
The publication highlights that during its chairmanship, Uzbekistan will focus on developing cross-border tourism and creating new routes connecting tourist attractions across the CIS countries. This is expected to diversify tourism products and increase mutual tourist flows.
The article concludes that the country’s priorities will also include expanding the exchange of tourism information and statistics, intensifying training and professional development of tourism personnel, and hosting the next meeting of the CIS Tourism Council in Uzbekistan in 2027. The Council comprises Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.
