LONDON, August 10. /Dunyo IA/. British magazine “EM Insight” published an interview with Mukhiddin Ibragimov, Deputy Director of the Space Research and Technology Agency (Uzbekcosmos) under the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, focusing on the development of the country’s space industry, innovation, human capital development and international cooperation, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Interview notes that, within several years of launching its modern space programme, Uzbekistan has laid the foundation for the development of its national space industry. One of the key areas has been the introduction of the State Space Monitoring Program, enabling the use of satellite data in government decision-making. Satellite monitoring technologies are applied in agriculture, water resource management, geology, environmental protection, cadastral services and urban planning, providing timely and objective information on ongoing processes.

Particular attention in the publication is devoted to training a new generation of specialists. According to Mukhiddin Ibragimov, “Uzbekcosmos” regards education as one of the three strategic pillars for the development of the space industry. Programs covering different levels of education are being implemented in the country, while international academic partnerships are expanding and opportunities are being provided for Uzbek students to study abroad. In particular, cooperation with Kyushu University in Japan has enabled seven Uzbek students to participate in the development of the country’s first educational satellite. For schoolchildren, the “Mission Moon” and “Space Bus” projects are being implemented to promote science, technology and STEM education.

Another important area highlighted is international cooperation and the development of national capabilities. “Uzbekcosmos” cooperates with space agencies and specialized organizations in the United States, France, Germany, China, Japan, South Korea, India and other countries. At the same time, as emphasized in the interview, a significant share of the work related to software development, satellite data analysis and their practical application is already being carried out by Uzbek specialists. International partnerships enable the country to study international best practices and adapt effective technological solutions to national needs.
