Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan receives copies of credentials of New Ambassador of Switzerland

TASHKENT, August 11. /Dunyo IA/. Today, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov accepted the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of Switzerland Simone Giger, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
“Pleased to receive the copies of the credentials of H.E. Simone Giger, newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to Uzbekistan, - the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan wrote in his telegram-channel. - During our conversation, we paid particular attention to further enhancing political dialogue between our countries, expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, advancing industrial cooperation, and promoting new joint projects.
Wished the Ambassador every success in her responsible diplomatic mission and reaffirmed our full support for her efforts aimed at further developing Uzbekistan–Switzerland relations”.
It is worth recalling that Uzbekistan and Switzerland established diplomatic relations on May 7th, 1992.
Simone Giger succeeded Konstantin Obolensky, who headed the Embassy of Switzerland in Tashkent in 2021–2026.
