MUSCAT, December 14. /Dunyo IA/. The popular Omani newspaper "Asdaa Oman" published an article titled “Uzbekistan’s economy raises growth forecast to 7.5% in 2025", reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the publication, based on updated estimates from Uzbekistan’s Center for Economic Research and Reforms, the country’s national economy is expected to grow by 7.5% in 2025.
This anticipated acceleration is attributed to expanding domestic demand, increased export volumes and a boost in investment activity.
The article notes that in the first nine months of 2024, Uzbekistan’s GDP grew by 7.6%, with significant increases in foreign trade, investment flows and international remittances. In October, the business activity index rose by 34.2% compared to the same period last year. According to the Center’s model, GDP growth in 2025 is projected to range between 7.3% and 7.7%. Key drivers of economic dynamics include business activity, the housing market, industrial production and the development of the banking sector.
The analysis also took into account behavioral economics factors, such as Google search activity. The forecasts are based on a large database and rapid modeling tools. International financial institutions have also revised their projections upward: the IMF predicts 7.3% growth, the World Bank 6.2% and the Asian Development Bank 6.6%. The article emphasizes that comparing national and international forecasts confirms the reliability of the Center’s assessments.
