Uzbekistan–Pakistan Development Hub launches in Gujranwala to boost trade and educational ties

• 90GUJRANWALA, December 15. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Alisher Tukhtaev visited the city of Gujranwala, Pakistan, on a working trip, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev attended the official opening ceremony of the “Uzbekistan–Pakistan Growth Desk” initiative, organized by the Gujranwala Business Alliance in collaboration with “GIFT University”.
According to the negotiations, an agreement was reached to allocate a USD 50,000 grant in 2026 to support Uzbek students studying at GIFT University.
The initiative aims to identify new growth points in trade and economic relations by bringing together business and academic circles from Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Gujrat. It also seeks to foster direct links through the integration of industry and higher education.
Ambassador Tukhtaev met with Muhammad Anwar Dar, Founder and Chairman of GIFT University and Ahmad Ikram Lone, Chairman of The Foreign Affairs Committee of Gujranwala Business Centre and an EC Member of the Diplomatic Affairs Committee of FPCCI. Discussions focused on prospects for collaboration with Uzbek higher education institutions, including faculty and student exchanges and the development of joint educational programs.
Chairman Anwar Dar confirmed the university’s full readiness to cooperate with Uzbek universities in these areas and proposed hosting a university delegation from Uzbekistan to discuss specific collaboration directions within agreed timelines.
