ISLAMABAD, July 31. /Dunyo IA/. Leading Pakistani newspaper “The Nation” has published an article titled “Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan: Strategic Partnership, Institutionalization and Mechanisms of Cooperation” dedicated to the state visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Kyrgyz Republic, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publication notes that the regular and trust-based dialogue between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov has elevated bilateral relations to a qualitatively new level. The newspaper describes the final settlement of state border issues as one of the most significant achievements of recent years, including the Treaty on the Junction Point of the State Borders of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, signed in Khujand on March 31^st, 2025.

According to the publication, over the past decade, mutual trade turnover has increased more than sevenfold - from $167.5 million to $1.2 billion, growing by 40 percent in the past year alone, while Uzbekistan accounts for about 7 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover.

Newspaper concludes that relations between Tashkent and Bishkek are currently experiencing the most dynamic stage in the entire history of their independence and are becoming an important factor in shaping a new architecture of cooperation in Central Asia.
