PARIS, September 27. /Dunyo IA/.  With the assistance of the Embassy, a separate section dedicated to Uzbekistan has been prepared in the book “Geopolitics of the Train” (Géopolitique du train) by the French writer and international affairs expert Claude Leblanc, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

It examines the reforms being implemented in the country under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbekistan's open and pragmatic foreign policy in Central Asia, as well as strategic initiatives in the field of transport and logistics.

Author characterizes Uzbekistan as a state that is consistently strengthening its political and economic positions in Central Asia. It is separately noted that regional cooperation occupies a priority place in the country's foreign policy and political, trade-economic and transport ties with neighbouring states have noticeably intensified.

Particular attention in the book is paid to the country's transport diplomacy. The development of railway and transport infrastructure is considered as an important factor in strengthening regional connectivity, diversifying foreign trade routes and enhancing the country's role in the Eurasian transport system.

In particular, the author examines the prospects of transport routes through China and Kyrgyzstan, Trans-Afghan railway with access to the ports of Pakistan, access to the Indian Ocean through the Iranian port of Chabahar, as well as the Middle Corridor through the Caspian Sea, South Caucasus and Türkiye to Europe.

Claude Leblanc links Uzbekistan's approach to the simultaneous development of several alternative transport corridors to the pragmatic and multi-vector nature of the country's foreign policy. According to his assessment, transport diplomacy contributes to strengthening cooperation and enhancing the potential of Uzbekistan as an important transport link between the East and the West.

On the eve, a meeting with the author Claude Leblanc was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan, during which the parties discussed the reforms in the country, foreign policy initiatives and issues of extensively informing the French and international public about the renewal processes in Uzbekistan.

Writer expressed interest in continuing cooperation on the preparation of information and analytical materials on the changes in Uzbekistan and raising awareness of the French and international audience about the reforms being carried out in the country.
