Polish Media Highlight Uzbekistan’s Growing Cooperation in Sports, Tourism and Economy

• 218WARSAW, September 23. /Dunyo IA/. Popular Polish online outlets have published articles highlighting Uzbekistan’s development, achievements in promoting its national sport, rapid growth in tourism and expanding trade and economic cooperation, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The specialized military portal “Polska-zbrojna.pl” published an article titled “Soldiers with Kurash Medals” about the successful participation of the Polish Armed Forces team in the I CISM World Military Kurash Challenge in Tashkent.
The publication highlighted the high organizational level of the competition, held under the auspices of the International Military Sports Council, and Uzbekistan’s efforts to promote its national martial art of kurash internationally. Polish military athletes won three medals, while the team’s head coach, Major Piotr Krajewski, praised the standard of the competition and the tradition of the Uzbek martial art.
“National-geographic.pl” examined Uzbekistan’s tourism sector in an article titled “Just a Few Years Ago, Few Chose This Country. Today, the Land of the Great Silk Road Is Experiencing a Real Tourism Boom.”
Citing data from UN Tourism and national statistics, the article noted the growth in foreign visitor numbers, from 11.7 million in 2025 to 9.1 million in the first eight months of 2026. It attributed the country’s growing appeal to visa liberalization, including visa-free entry for citizens of 94 countries, including Poland, the launch of direct Warsaw-Tashkent flights, the expansion of high-speed rail and the development of hotel infrastructure.
The “Kig.pl” website published an announcement of an upcoming business mission by Polish entrepreneurs to Uzbekistan. An article titled “Business Mission to Uzbekistan” described the country as an economic leader in Central Asia, citing a growth rate of 7.7% and $43 billion in foreign direct investment attracted in 2025.
The publication encouraged Polish companies operating in IT, agriculture, green technologies and logistics to use a B2B platform organized by the Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, with support from the diplomatic missions of the two countries.
