“Rossiyskaya Gazeta”: Belarus expresses readiness to invest in joint industrial projects with Uzbekistan

MOSCOW, July 8. /Dunyo IA/.  Official “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” published an article titled “Minsk and Tashkent increased mutual trade volume more than 13 times”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publication states that during a round table meeting on “Belarus and Uzbekistan: New vectors of interaction”, Minister of Economy of Belarus Yuri Chebotar, announced that over the past decade, Belarus and Uzbekistan have increased their mutual trade in goods by more than 13 times, while trade in services grew more than thirty-fold.

It is noted that Uzbekistan ranks third in terms of Belarus's mutual trade in both goods and services among the CIS countries and second in terms of accumulated Belarusian investments.

As emphasized in the article, while outlining the key directions for further deepening bilateral interaction, the head of the Belarusian ministry prioritized “industrial partnership”. Minsk is ready to invest in joint industrial projects, ensuring full technology transfer and the creation of modern jobs.

In addition, technology and manufacturing autonomy were named as crucial aspects of cooperation. According to Yuri Chebotar, digital transformation is a strategic priority for Belarus, and Uzbekistan has also set a course toward digitalization, with one of the key tasks being the creation of IT parks.

Article notes that the minister also highlighted investments in the service industry and tourism. “This area holds great potential for cooperation and mutually beneficial growth, both in terms of services and joint investment projects”, - publication quotes the Minister of Economy of Belarus.
