BEIJING, July 8. /Dunyo IA/. Death toll from floods, thunderstorms, and landslides across China has risen to 36 over the past two days, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing the Xinhua news agency.

The majority of the fatalities were recorded in Gansu province, where at least 21 people were killed and seven others injured after a landslide struck a village.

The landslide hit Renzang Village in the city of Longnan, trapping 33 people. Rescue teams, including emergency responders, firefighters, and police officers, were dispatched to the scene. Five people were rescued. Search and rescue operations have now concluded, and the injured are receiving treatment at local hospitals.

Meanwhile, in the eastern province of Hubei, at least 11 people were killed and hundreds more injured by tornadoes and severe thunderstorms.

In the southern Guangxi region, at least four people died as torrential rains and severe flooding triggered by Typhoon “Maysak” swept through the area. More than 50,000 residents have been evacuated, while eight people remain missing.
