The feasibility study for the “Green Corridor” project will be prepared by 2027

BUDAPEST, April 24. /Dunyo IA/. Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are forming a new strategic energy vector aimed at developing the export of “green” energy, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing with the Hungarian online publication “Hello Magyar”.
The initiative is based on strengthening regional cooperation and is aimed at enhancing energy security and promoting global “green” transformation.
“Renewable energy sources are actively developing in Uzbekistan: 15 solar and 5 wind power plants with a total capacity of 5,582 MW have been commissioned. In 2025, they produced 10.5 billion kWh of electricity and by 2030, the share of "green" energy in the country will reach 54%”, - publication informs.
Cooperation with Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan plays a key role in the project. The foundation of the “Green Corridor” was laid by agreements signed in 2024, including arrangements reached at the COP-29 summit in Baku.
Within the framework of the project, the “Green Corridor Alliance” company has been established, and the Italian company CESI, with the support of the Asian Development Bank, is responsible for developing the feasibility study. The document is scheduled to be presented by the beginning of 2027.
It is noted that the project is aimed at creating a unified clean energy system and strengthening the region's position in the global energy market.
