International Festival of Traditional Visual and Applied Arts to be held in Uzbekistan

TASHKENT, April 17. /Dunyo IA/. From April 20th to 24th, 2026, the International Festival of Traditional Visual and Applied Arts will take place across Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event is organized by the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan with the support of several ministries and agencies.
Today, on the eve of the festival, a press conference was held at the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, where Academy representatives provided detailed information regarding the program and goals of the International Art Week.
The primary goal of the festival is to popularize the rich cultural heritage of national fine and applied arts passed down through generations, promote the achievements of Uzbek art on the international stage, develop creative exchange and identify new talents, continue the “ustoz–shogird” (master–apprentice) traditions, study current processes in contemporary art, and strengthen friendship and cooperation between nations.
The festival will span exhibition halls in Tashkent, regional centers and Republic of Karakalpakstan. The program will feature exhibitions and master classes involving renowned domestic and foreign artists and craftsmen, artistic programs, cultural and educational events, international scientific conferences, as well as presentations of creative projects, fashion shows, and workshops prepared by students from universities, colleges and specialized educational institutions.
This year, alongside domestic artists, creators from China, South Korea, Turkey, France, Romania, Russia, as well as member countries of the TURKSOY organization, are participating in this large-scale event.
As usual, over the course of five days in Tashkent and across the republic, the festival will feature exhibitions, master classes, creative meetings, and scientific conferences, as well as ceremonies for signing bilateral memorandums.
Alongside the art schools and boarding schools under the Academy of Arts, talented young people and artists from republican specialized schools and higher education institutions in the fields of fine and applied arts have the opportunity to participate and showcase their creativity in the festival.
Events in Tashkent will be held at the Central Exhibition Hall, the Kamoliddin Behzod Museum of Oriental Miniature Art, the Kamoliddin Behzod National Institute of Fine Arts and Design, Tashkent House of Photography, Ikuo Hirayama International Caravan-Saray of Culture, Republican Specialized School of Design, Fine Arts Gallery of Uzbekistan, and Academy of Arts' “Akademiya” gallery.
