“The World News”: Ten Landmarks of Tashkent Modernism inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List

ISLAMABAD, July 28. /Dunyo IA/. Popular Pakistani electronic publication “The World News” has published an article dedicated to the inclusion of Uzbekistan's national nomination, “Tashkent Modernist Architecture Added to UNESCO Heritage List”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publication reports that the corresponding decision was made during the 48th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in Pusan, South Korea. International recognition was granted to ten unique architectural sites from the second half of the 20th century, constructed following the 1966 earthquake, which blend the principles of modernism with Central Asian architectural traditions and local climatic conditions.

According to “The World News”, the inclusion of Tashkent sites on the World Heritage List marks a significant milestone, validating the high international value of Uzbekistan's architectural heritage. This recognition enhances opportunities for the preservation and transmission of these sites to future generations.
