KIEV, May 26. /Dunyo IA/. Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Ukraine have agreed to introduce a unified transit permit for freight transportation within the framework of “ТРАСЕКА”, Dunyo IA correspondent reports, citing the Ukrainian magazine Kyiv Diplomatic and the information portals Open4business and Fixygen.
The agreement was signed on May 15 during a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Astana. It provides for the use of a single transit permit form valid across the territories of all five countries.
The document will allow transporters to carry out transit operations through several states without obtaining additional permits, aiming to eliminate administrative barriers and accelerate cargo flows.
The initiative is regarded as the creation of a “green corridor” for international transportation and the development of a more integrated regional transport system.
During the meeting, Ilkhom Makhkamov, Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan, also proposed measures for the further development of the corridor, including the digitalization of transport processes, the transition to paperless transit procedures, the removal of route restrictions, and the improvement of the regulatory framework.
Following the meeting, decisions were adopted aimed at strengthening regional transport cooperation and further developing “ТРАСЕКА” mechanisms.
