MUSCAT, May 25. /Dunyo IA/. Omani newspaper “Asdaa Oman” highlights the growing role of Uzbekistan in regional trade, transport and investment processes in its latest article, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
It emphasizes that the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) is becoming an important platform for economic cooperation in Eurasia, uniting countries with high resource, industrial and logistics potential.
According to expert assessments, Uzbekistan exhibits one of the most dynamic development trajectories within the region, solidifying its position in manufacturing, exports and industrial integration.
Over the past five-year period, the nation has markedly enhanced its economic indicators through increased export volumes and deeper participation in regional supply chains. Kazakhstan and Türkiye continue to serve as cornerstone trading partners, alongside expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.
Particular attention is dedicated to investment cooperation: from 2017 to 2025, the volume of investments from regional countries into Uzbekistan's economy exceeded USD 11.5 billion. More than 4.5 thousand companies backed by capital from the Turkic region operate in the country, with Türkiye remaining the largest investor.
The article also underscores the importance of transport integration. As a landlocked country, Uzbekistan actively develops overland and multimodal corridors, including routes via Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Turkey, alongside the promising China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway project. These pathways are viewed as critical for expanding exports and reducing logistics costs.
Additionally, the growing role of digitalization as the foundation for economic interaction is highlighted. The harmonization of digital standards, the development of e-commerce, and the implementation of unified platforms are viewed as vital tools for reducing transaction costs and expanding intra-regional trade.
In conclusion, it is emphasized that Uzbekistan is increasingly integrating into regional economic chains, reinforcing its significance as one of the key centers for economic cooperation in Eurasia.
