ТАSHKENT, July 6. /Dunyo IA/. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan Ayman Safadi, gave an interview to the Dunyo IA correspondent.
- It is a great honour for me to be in Uzbekistan. Our current visit is a logical continuation of the historic visit of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein to Uzbekistan last year, as well as the agreements reached during his substantive talks and productive meetings with His Excellency Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Our countries are fraternal states. We are bound by a rich history of cooperation, and today we are working together to elevate our mutually beneficial relations to an even higher level.
Under the leadership of the President of Uzbekistan, the country demonstrates impressive achievements in its development. Our visit to the Center for Islamic Civilization left a deep impression on us. This unique complex reflects the rich history and invaluable cultural and spiritual heritage of Uzbekistan, and also embodies the enlightened values of Islamic civilization. I am confident that the future built on such a solid foundation will be just as great.
Relations between Jordan and Uzbekistan are developing rapidly and encompass new areas of cooperation. As I have already noted, the visit of His Majesty the King to Uzbekistan and his meetings with His Excellency the President of Uzbekistan became truly historic.
Following the outcomes of these negotiations, a “roadmap” was developed, defining specific areas for expanding cooperation in the economy, culture, tourism, the defence sector and many other fields. Today, we can already see tangible results from the implementation of the agreements reached.
We eagerly look forward to the opportunity to welcome the President of Uzbekistan to Amman. I am confident that the upcoming visit will become an important stage in further strengthening our relations and will make it possible to elevate bilateral cooperation to a qualitatively new level.
We have a clear understanding of the next steps to develop our partnership. Solid and effective mechanisms of interaction have already been established between our countries; however, we are convinced that the potential for cooperation is significantly broader and capable of bringing even greater benefits to the peoples of Jordan and Uzbekistan.
This is precisely why I am confident that we are moving in the right direction, and our cooperation will consistently expand and strengthen.
