TASHKENT, July 6. /Dunyo IA/.  A press conference was held at the Center for Islamic Civilization, dedicated to hosting the First International Forum of Islamic Civilization “The Path of Peace, Tolerance and Enlightenment”, which will take place from July 7th to 11th in Tashkent, Samarkand and Termez, reports Dunyo IA correspondent from the scene.

Forum is organized by the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Committee for Religious Affairs, Imam Maturidi, Imam al-Bukhari, and Imam at-Tirmidhi International Scientific Research Centers, Muslim Board, International Islamic Academy and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).

Hosting the forum has become a continuation of the initiatives of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, voiced at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly in 2017. They are aimed at studying and popularizing the scientific and spiritual heritage of Islamic civilization, preserving the legacy of outstanding scholars and promoting the principles of enlightenment and religious tolerance.

About 300 foreign guests from more than 50 states are expected to participate. Among them are state and public figures, ministers, muftis, heads of international organizations, academics, well-known Islamic scholars, specialists in manuscript heritage and representatives of museums, libraries, and the media.

Opening ceremony will take place at the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan.

Participation in the event has been confirmed by ICESCO Director General Salim Al-Malik, IRCICA Director General Mahmud Erol Kılıç, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev and President of the International Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev, alongside heads of international organizations, scholars and public figures from Uzbekistan and foreign countries.

In terms of scale, forum will become one of the region's largest international scientific events. Its program includes four international conferences, ten plenary meetings, fifteen plenary sessions and the work of six thematic sections.

Participants will focus on the history of Islamic civilization, Hadith studies, Kalam, the study of manuscript heritage, archaeology, museology, cultural heritage preservation, digitalization, cultural diplomacy, and spiritual and educational reforms implemented in New Uzbekistan.

A special place in the program will be given to presentations of new scientific publications and joint international projects prepared in cooperation with ICESCO, IRCICA and other foreign partners. Within the framework of the forum, discussions on the prospects of further cooperation and the signing of memorandums and agreements are also planned.

An important part of the program will be international scientific conferences in Samarkand and Termez dedicated to the heritage of Imam al-Bukhari, Imam Maturidi, and Imam at-Tirmidhi. They will address issues of the development of Islamic science, the study of manuscript sources, the methodology of Hadith studies and the modern interpretation of the intellectual heritage of outstanding scholars.

It is expected that the First International Forum of Islamic Civilization will become a significant event in the scientific and educational life of Uzbekistan, contribute to strengthening international humanitarian cooperation and further promote the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Islamic civilization.
