Delegation of Karakalpakstan explores Pakistan's experience in irrigation

LAHORE, July 6. /Dunyo IA/. A meeting was held in the city of Lahore between the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan Farkhod Ermanov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtayev and the management of the Irrigation Department of Punjab Province, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the talks, the parties discussed issues of developing cooperation between Karakalpakstan and Punjab Province in the field of irrigation, effective water resources management, as well as the exchange of experience on their rational use.
Pakistani side presented information on the country's current irrigation system, modern irrigation infrastructure, water resources management mechanisms and measures aimed at ensuring water conservation.
It was noted that studying the advanced experience of Pakistan, particularly the Punjab Province, is of great significance for increasing the efficiency of water resources utilization, widespread introduction of water-saving technologies and improving the irrigation infrastructure in Karakalpakstan.
Parties emphasized the importance of consistently developing mutually beneficial practical cooperation in the field of irrigation, exchanging best practices, enhancing the qualifications of industry specialists and strengthening institutional cooperation between the two regions.
Following the outcomes of the meeting, an agreement was reached to establish practical cooperation between Karakalpakstan and Punjab Province in the field of irrigation, as well as to create a joint working group in this area.
