BUDAPEST, July 29. /Dunyo IA/. An article dedicated to the current stage of development of Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations ahead of the state visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan has been published in the popular Hungarian online publication “Daily News Hungary”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publication, titled “Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan: Strategic Partnership, Institutionalization and Mechanisms of Cooperation”, analyses the evolution of bilateral cooperation, which in recent years has reached a qualitatively new level and acquired the character of a comprehensive strategic partnership.

It is noted that, thanks to the political will of the leaders of the two countries, the issues related to the state border were not only fully resolved, but also a solid legal and institutional framework was established for long-term cooperation. The article emphasizes that the regular political dialogue between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov has become a key factor in strengthening mutual trust and expanding cooperation across virtually all areas.

Author pays particular attention to the dynamic development of trade and economic relations. It is emphasized that over the past decade, bilateral trade turnover has increased more than sevenfold, while the structure of trade has become significantly more diversified due to the growth of supplies of high value-added products. As an important mechanism for promoting joint projects, the publication highlights the activities of the Uzbekistan–Kyrgyzstan Development Fund, whose capital has been increased to USD 200 million.

Author also draws attention to the growing role of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in promoting the regional agenda on the international stage. It is emphasized that the experience accumulated by the countries of Central Asia in the peaceful settlement of border issues has received recognition from the international community and can serve as an example of effectively resolving complex interstate matters through dialogue and mutual respect.

In conclusion, the article notes that the current Uzbek-Kyrgyz strategic partnership goes far beyond bilateral relations, becoming an important element in shaping a new architecture of cooperation in Central Asia. The publication writes that the upcoming state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan will provide additional momentum for the implementation of joint projects and further strengthening of multifaceted cooperation between the two brotherly states.
