TASHKENT, July 9. /Dunyo IA/.  A delegation from China’s Guangdong Province, led by the Vice Mayor of the city of Zhongshan, Ouyang Jinquan, has visited Uzbekistan on a working mission, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Facilitated by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan, high-level meetings were convened in Tashkent at the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, Chamber of Commerce and Industry and “Uzeltexsanoat” Association. Following the conclusion of the negotiations, the parties agreed on the further development of industrial cooperation and corporate linkages.

Particular attention was dedicated to cooperation with the Bukhara region. During the meeting with the Khokim of the region, the sides agreed to develop mutually beneficial investment projects involving the business communities, as well as to expand the practice of reciprocal business missions for participation in forums and exhibitions. The delegation also visited the city of Kagan, where they familiarized themselves with its investment and industrial potential.

Business forum “Bukhara – Zhongshan: Trade-Economic and Investment Cooperation” was held in Bukhara. The Chinese delegation was presented with the investment and export potential of the region, alongside the opportunities of free economic zones.

Following the conclusion of the forum, Department of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Bukhara Region and the Investment Promotion Bureau of the Zhongshan Municipality signed a strategic partnership agreement. During the visit, the delegation also held a meeting at the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. As a result, the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan and the Zhongshan Drug Development Institute signed a cooperation agreement providing for the establishment of a joint laboratory for the development of natural products and medicines.
