ASTANA, July 9. /Dunyo IA/.  Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan (SAMK), Supreme Mufti Nauryzbay kazhy Taganuly Otpenov, has visited Uzbekistan on a working mission at the head of a Kazakh delegation, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing with reference to the “Kazislam” portal.

Visit took place upon the official invitation of the Chairman of the Committee for Religious Affairs of Uzbekistan Sodiq Toshboev and Director of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan Firdavs Abduhalikov.

Centerpiece of the visit’s itinerary was the participation of the SAMK delegation in the 1st International Forum of Islamic Civilization, which was convened in Tashkent and Samarkand. The theme of the international symposium was titled “Islamic Civilization: The Path of Peace, tolerance and enlightenment”.

The opening ceremony of the forum brought together approximately 300 international guests representing more than 50 countries. Among the participants were state officials, supreme muftis, distinguished scholars, experts in Islamic studies, alongside directors of premier global museums and libraries.

Within the framework of the forum, four conferences, ten plenary sessions, and fifteen thematic sessions were successfully conducted.

Particular attention among the participants was directed toward the matters of Hadith studies, Kalam (Islamic theology), the preservation of ancient manuscripts, archaeological research, the digitalization of cultural heritage and the ongoing spiritual and educational reforms in contemporary Uzbekistan.

Kazakh delegation discussed pressing issues concerning the development of Islamic civilization, preservation of historical and cultural heritage and the strengthening of cooperation between the Islamic scientific and religious centers of the two countries.
