Al-Kuwait hosts Uzbek-Iraqi negotiations aimed at advancing bilateral relations

KUWAIT, July 7. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ayubkhon Yunusov has met with the Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of Iraq in Kuwait, Ali Al-Taie, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed pressing issues on the bilateral agenda. In particular, the sides agreed to intensify efforts towards expanding the legal and regulatory framework of bilateral relations and to expedite the organization of joint events.

Particular attention was paid to the development of cooperation in the transport and logistics sector. The parties emphasized the importance of further developing regional transport corridors and advancing agreements to establish direct interaction between the ministries of transport of the two countries. Furthermore, with a view to expanding trade and economic cooperation, an agreement was reached to expedite the coordination process for the draft bilateral agreement on mutual administrative assistance in customs matters.

During the talks, the sides also reviewed issues concerning the development of economic diplomacy and the support of direct business contacts. In particular, an exchange of views took place regarding the upcoming visit of a business delegation from Iraqi Kurdistan to Tashkent, as well as the prospects of organizing a joint business forum within the framework of the visit.
