“Delovoy Peterburg”: Summer Tashkent offers new travel opportunities for Russian visitors

SAINT PETERSBURG, July 7. /Dunyo IA/.   Consul General of Uzbekistan Abdurakhmon Makhmudov outlined the distinct tourism assets of Tashkent poised to engage Russian travellers in a commentary for the “Delovoy Peterburg” newspaper, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Despite high daytime temperatures, the summer heat in Tashkent is significantly more manageable owing to the region's dry climate. As the Consul General noted, “The key factor is the dry climate. Low humidity makes the heat far easier to withstand compared to coastal resorts”.

One of the defining characteristics of the Uzbek capital remains the seamless integration of historical heritage and modern urban development. Among the most prominent landmarks are the State Museum of the History of Uzbekistan Alisher Navoi State Academic Bolshoi Theatre, Amir Temur Square and State Museum of the History of the Temurids, among others.

Furthermore, Tashkent is widely recognized as one of the nation's premier gastronomic hubs. At the historic “Chorsu” Bazaar, visitors are highly encouraged to experience the renowned Uzbek plov and other staples of the national cuisine, while the summer season offers an abundance of fresh, seasonal fruits, including cherries, grapes, peaches and apricots.

According to Abdurakhmon Makhmudov, the capital assumes a distinctive ambiance after sunset during the summer months. “Owing to the strategic initiative transitioning designated streets to 24-hour operations, Tashkent truly comes alive after sundown in the summer. Evening gastronomic avenues, musical fountains, open-air terraces of traditional restaurants, alongside cultural events and festivals in public parks, collectively foster a thoroughly unique and vibrant atmosphere”, - he emphasized.

Another distinct feature of the region is its mountain resorts, located approximately 85 kilometers from the capital. Chimgan, Charvak, Beldersay and Amirsoy offer ideal conditions for hiking, cycling, and recreation in a noticeably cooler climate.

Outlining a recommended itinerary for first-time visitors, the Consul General suggested exploring the Center of Islamic Civilization, “Tashkent City” Park and a route connecting the historic “Chorsu” Bazaar with the Tashkent Broadway.

Abdurakhmon Makhmudov concluded that a first trip to Tashkent happens only once, and therefore, it is up to each individual to decide where to begin their acquaintance with the city. Come, walk the streets, experience the cuisine, engage with the local residents and curate your own unique list of must-see destinations in Tashkent.
