KOŃSKIE, October 21. /Dunyo IA/. Poland will host a meeting entitled “Uzbekistan – A Journey Along the Silk Road”, at which Polish travellers will share their experiences of exploring Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing with the Polish news portal “Echodnia”.
Event will take place at the Konecki Cultural Center on October 22. The speakers will be Anna and Tomasz Chałaciński, authors of the “Ślady na mapie” (“Traces on the Map”) blog and repeat ambassadors of the “Slow Travel” Conscious Travel Fair organised by Targi Kielce.
Their presentation will cover journeys through Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, explorations beyond well-trodden tourist routes, and encounters with people that leave a lasting impression. According to the speakers, Uzbekistan is a country of cities that have become legends of the Great Silk Road, with a rich history, architecture and culture.
For nearly 20 years, the couple have been promoting the idea of mindful, unhurried travel away from mass tourism, with an emphasis on discovering local culture and engaging with local communities. They previously lived and worked in the United Kingdom for more than a decade.
