“Associated Press of Pakistan” IA: Uzbekistan emerging as a global hub for technology outsourcing

ISLAMABAD, October 5. /Dunyo IA/.  Pakistan’s central news agency, “Associated Press of Pakistan” (APP), has published an article on Uzbekistan’s position in the global technology outsourcing market, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publication notes that the volume of IT outsourcing services in the country increased from $3.2 million in 2019 to $716.4 million in 2025, while the number of IT companies grew from 369 to 3,400 and the volume of IT services provided reached $2.8 billion. At the same time, the key change is not only reflected in the figures: Uzbekistan’s role in the international service delivery chain is also evolving, as the country is moving from performing individual technology tasks to providing a broader range of corporate functions.

Article also reports that more than 220 universities operate in Uzbekistan, 145 of which offer IT-related programs, while technology outsourcing is no longer limited to programming. The BPO segment - covering customer support, data processing and administrative and operational processes - is developing rapidly, with more than 540 companies and over 14,500 specialists currently working in the field, compared with just 136 employees in 2020.

More than 4,000 companies operate within the IT Park Uzbekistan ecosystem, including over 1,100 companies with foreign capital from 75 countries, while the number of jobs created has exceeded 56,000.

As noted in the article, Uzbekistan has already established the conditions needed to enter the global outsourcing market: a large and young talent pool, a developing IT sector, expanding BPO and KPO segments, exports to foreign markets, and the necessary infrastructure. However, further development will be measured not by the number of companies or specialists, but by the average volume of export contracts, the complexity of the functions performed, the number of large international teams, and the share of high-value-added services.

“Precisely the shift from rapid quantitative growth to increasingly sophisticated services can transform the current momentum into a sustainable position for Uzbekistan in the global technology outsourcing market”, article concludes.
