ASTANA, September 21. /Dunyo IA/.  Kazakh news agency “DKNews” has published a detailed article on the development of Uzbekistan–Republic of Korea relations and new opportunities for cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Central Asia, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publication notes that over the past 30 years, the partnership between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea has expanded far beyond traditional trade and economic ties, encompassing industry, healthcare, education, digitalization and investment.

Agency paid particular attention to the Central Asia – Republic of Korea Summit, which was held in Seoul on September 16. According to the publication, the new format creates conditions for moving from individual bilateral projects towards regional production chains and joint technological initiatives.

Publication also provides figures on economic cooperation: in 2025, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea reached $1.7 billion, while the volume of South Korean investments and loans attracted in 2016–2025 approached $2 billion.

Among the promising areas, “DKNews” highlights critical minerals, artificial intelligence, industrial cooperation, transport, energy, education and specialist training. It also emphasizes Uzbekistan’s role as one of the key participants in the new regional format.
