Indian Business Press Praises Uzbekistan’s Investment Initiatives Announced at Tashkent Forum

DELHI, June 19. /Dunyo IA/. The influential newspaper “The Indian Express” has published an extensive article highlighting the outcomes of the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum and Uzbekistan’s latest investment initiatives, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The publication focuses on the large-scale reforms announced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, aimed at creating new opportunities for foreign investors. Particular attention is given to tax incentives for the IT sector and reforms designed to liberalize the mining industry.

The newspaper notes the forum’s record participation, with around 4,000 delegates from more than 100 countries, describing it as evidence of the growing international stature of the Tashkent forum.

Among the key announcements highlighted by the publication is the creation of a special zone in Karakalpakstan for artificial intelligence projects and data centers. According to the article, investors operating in the zone will benefit from exemptions from all major taxes and customs duties until 2040, as well as preferential electricity tariffs.

The article also examines reforms in the mining sector, noting Uzbekistan’s estimated $3 trillion in strategic mineral reserves and plans to establish Technopark of Metals of the Future in the Tashkent and Samarkand regions.

The Indian publication draws attention to the growing relevance of these initiatives for Indian businesses, particularly in light of India’s interest in developing cooperation with Central Asian countries in the field of rare earth elements and critical minerals.

The article further highlights Uzbekistan’s major transport and logistics projects, which are expected to strengthen the country’s role as a link between Asian and European markets and create new opportunities for international investors.

According to “The Indian Express”, the reforms announced at the Tashkent forum demonstrate Uzbekistan’s commitment to creating a modern and competitive business environment that meets global standards and responds to the challenges of the 21st century.
