Kuwaiti Press: Uzbekistan opens new opportunities in urban development and real estate

KUWAIT CITY, August 11. /Dunyo IA/. Leading Kuwaiti publications “Times Kuwait” and “Al Wakt News” have published articles highlighting Uzbekistan’s wide-ranging economic reforms, investment climate, as well as developments in urban development and the country’s real estate market, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publications note that Uzbekistan’s real estate market has demonstrated rapid growth in recent years. Population growth and accelerating urbanization are contributing to increased demand for new housing, commercial properties and infrastructure projects.

In particular, the volume of building and construction works in Uzbekistan reached $18.6 billion in 2025, while the value of civil engineering projects amounted to nearly $8.1 billion. The country’s population has exceeded 38 million, with more than 50 percent of the population living in urban areas, supporting sustained growth in demand for housing and urban infrastructure.

Planned completion of 140,000 new apartments in 2026 is also seen as an important indicator demonstrating the scale and prospects of the market for investors. New investment opportunities are emerging not only in Tashkent, but also in regions such as Samarkand and Bukhara.

Investment opportunities in Uzbekistan are not limited to residential construction. The country is implementing projects involving the development of office and retail complexes, warehouse facilities, educational and healthcare institutions, hotels, logistics infrastructure and industrial zones.

Alongside the opportunities available in the Uzbek market, the articles provide an objective analysis of the factors that investors should take into account. In particular, attention is drawn to trends in construction costs, differences in demand across regions, the state of infrastructure, procedures for land allocation and obtaining permits, as well as the need to conduct legal and technical due diligence prior to the implementation of projects.

Publications conclude that Uzbekistan’s economic growth, rising population and the increasing number of cities, together with growing investment in infrastructure, are creating a solid foundation for the long-term development of the real estate market.

At the same time, they emphasize that at the next stage of market development, the quality of investment projects, their location, financing mechanisms and professional management will be of decisive importance.
