Kuwaiti Expert: Shared Cultural Values unite Kuwait and Uzbekistan

An article by Tarek Yusef Al-Shumaymiri, former Secretary-General of the Commercial Arbitration Center of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, has been published in leading Kuwaiti media outlets, including “Al-Seyassah”, “Alwakt News” and “The Times Kuwait”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Author, who personally participated in the International Media Forum “Islamic Civilization: A New Perspective - New Discoveries” in Tashkent, highly praised the historical and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, particularly that of Samarkand and Tashkent.
Article highlights historical parallels between Samarkand and Kuwait’s historic Failaka Island, as well as shared values of the Uzbek and Kuwaiti peoples, including hospitality, trading traditions and respect for knowledge.
Tarek Yusef Al-Shumaymiri also emphasized the development of bilateral relations following the state visit of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the State of Kuwait on February 17–18th, 2025 and their advancement to the level of comprehensive partnership.
According to the author, historical and cultural heritage provides a foundation for further developing ties, while transport, investment, education and culture can give a new impetus to Uzbek-Kuwaiti cooperation.
