“Ukrinform” IA: Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan discuss Joint Fuel Production

KYIV, September 9. /Dunyo IA/. Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are discussing the joint production of automotive and aviation fuel, as well as long-term supplies of oil and petroleum products to meet growing demand in the Uzbek market, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing with the Ukrainian news agency “Ukrinform”.
Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Sherzod Khodjayev said that one of the options under consideration is the production of fuel and lubricants at oil-refining facilities in the two countries. According to him, Tashkent has proposed several models of such cooperation to Baku.
The sides are also considering the joint processing of hydrocarbon feedstock, technology exchange and the creation of resilient logistics chains for the supply of oil and petroleum products.
Earlier, Uzbekistan began increasing supplies of aviation fuel from Georgia and Iraq, while “Uzbekneftegaz” JSC discussed long-term supplies of “Jet A-1” aviation fuel with Chinese companies.
