Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka hold First Round of Political Consultations in Tashkent

TASHKENT, July 9. /Dunyo IA/. Today, the first round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka was held in Tashkent, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, delegations were led by First Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhromjon Aloyev and First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism of Sri Lanka Aruni Ranaraja.
During the consultations, the parties held a comprehensive exchange of views on the current state of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka, as well as promising areas for their further development.
Particular attention was paid to enhancing economic diplomacy. The sides agreed to develop measures aimed at increasing and diversifying bilateral trade, as well as implementing joint investment projects.
The parties also discussed expanding cultural and humanitarian ties and strengthening cooperation in the fields of education, scientific research, and tourism.
A Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of a Mechanism for Bilateral Consultations was signed.
