CAIRO, July 9. /Dunyo IA/.  Leading news agencies and publications of Egypt have published a series of articles on the inaugural International Forum of Islamic Civilization, which is taking place in Tashkent, Samarkand and Termez from July 7th to 11th, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

As reported by “Al-Ahram” newspaper, a high-level Egyptian delegation led by the Minister of Awqaf, Osama al-Azhari, is participating in the event. The forum has gathered officials, experts and scholars from more than 40 countries. Publication notes that the forum is designed to extensively highlight the contribution of Islamic civilization to the development of humanity, science and enlightenment, promote the ideas of peace and tolerance and strengthen cooperation between scientific and cultural institutions.

A significant focus within the publications was dedicated to the address of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the forum participants. As reported by the “Le Progrès Egyptien” media outlet and the “MENA” news agency, the address emphasizes that hosting the forum at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent carries a profound symbolic meaning, while the broad international participation demonstrates the growing interest of the global community in Islamic civilization and its rich heritage.

As reported by “Al-Ahram” newspaper, following the initial days of the forum, its participants adopted a Final Declaration. The document expresses deep gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, for the initiative he put forward in 2017 at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly, which found its practical realization in the establishment of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent and the convening of this forum. Furthermore, declaration explicitly states the vital necessity of countering ignorance, extremism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, and the distorted interpretation of the Islamic heritage.

MENA” news agency broadcasted the speech delivered by Dr. Salim AlMalik, Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent. According to him, the center plays a vital role in popularizing the heritage of Imams Bukhari, Tirmidhi and Maturidi, which serves as a foundation for further development.

Meeting between Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan Kongratbay Sharipov and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Egypt Abdelaziz Konsowa, held on the sidelines of the forum, also received extensive coverage. As reported by “Al-Akhbar”, parties discussed cooperation in the fields of education and science, noting the “Study in Uzbekistan” exhibition held in Cairo this July, as well as the preparation of a joint cooperation program for 2026–2030.
