SINGAPORE, April 30. /"Dunyo" IA/. Today, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan Alisher Kayumov presented his credentials to the President of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam at the Istana government residence, reports "Dunyo" IA correspondent.

During their meeting, President Tharman and Ambassador Kayumov discussed the current state and future prospects of Uzbekistan-Singapore cooperation, which has gained momentum following mutual high-level visits in 2023.
The head of Singapore commended Uzbekistan’s reforms under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, highlighting the country’s progress in building a strong civil society, pursuing an open foreign policy, and achieving stable economic growth.
The increasing appeal of Uzbekistan for international business, including Singaporean investors, was emphasized. This interest is demonstrated by the upcoming participation of a Singapore Parliament delegation and over 25 Singaporean companies in the Tashkent International Investment Forum.
At the end of the conversation, the President of Singapore expressed readiness to further strengthen bilateral relations and extended best wishes to the leadership and people of Uzbekistan.
It is worth recalling that Alisher Kayumov assumed his role in Singapore in mid-March, succeeding Kahramon Shakirov, who served as Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Singapore (2018–2024) and concurrently in Australia (2022–2024) with residence in Singapore.
