Pakistani enterprise is set to collaborate on the implementation of “Smart City” initiatives in Karakalpakstan

A distinguished delegation from Uzbekistan, led by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan Farhod Ermanov and Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan Alisher Tukhtaev, engaged in constructive dialogue with Zahid Rafiq, Chairman of Habib Rafiq Engineering Private Limited – “HRL Group”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Executive-level talks focused on unlocking new horizons for cross-border investment. Key areas of discussion included urban innovation through “Smart City” projects, the expansion of resilient digital infrastructure, technology transfer and the successful execution of mutually beneficial joint ventures in the Karakalpakstan region.
Particular attention was paid to the initiative to implement the “IT Park”, “Data Center” and “Smart City” projects on the territory of the Youth City under construction in the Khodjeyli district. It was noted that these projects will contribute to the formation of an innovation ecosystem and the further development of the region's digital economy.
“HRL Group” management confirmed its readiness to implement the projects, noting that during a visit to Karakalpakstan in April of this year, company representatives were familiarized with the region's investment potential. Furthermore, the working design for the construction of the “IT Park” in Nukus has already been fully prepared, which will allow for its practical implementation to begin in the near future .
During the meeting, Uzbek side was also presented with a digital platform for managing the “Smart City” project, which will enable real-time coordination of urban infrastructure and improve the efficiency of public utilities and digital services.
Following the talks, an agreement was reached to prepare and sign a joint roadmap outlining the stages of implementation for the “IT Park”, “Data Center” and “Smart City” projects. “HRL Group” management also announced its intention to send a team of specialists to Karakalpakstan in the near future to study the allocated land plots and prepare technical and commercial proposals for each project.
