PARIS, August 10. /Dunyo IA/.  Ahead of the 35^th Anniversary of the State Independence of Uzbekistan, Pierre-Paul Antheunissens, General Director of EDF for Uzbekistan and Central Asia, extended his sincere congratulations and best wishes through Dunyo IA:

- I have been fortunate enough to work in Uzbekistan three times. In total, I have lived in the country for almost 15 years together with my children and family. During this time, I have witnessed the development of the country. And I must say that, especially over the past ten years, the changes have been truly impressive.

We witnessed large-scale economic reforms that opened the country to the world and attracted investment. It was precisely because of these transformations that I found myself in Uzbekistan again, as I work for EDF. Our company won a major project, and in 2022 we came to Tashkent to establish “EDF Uzbekistan” and begin implementing new projects.

Today, we are highly active in the energy sector. We are constructing a major gas-fired power plant in the Syrdarya region. We are also engaged in very large-scale projects in another part of the country and hope to continue our activities. Currently, we plan to build a wind power plant in the Bukhara region, as well as to take an active part in the privatization of the electricity distribution system in Uzbekistan.

I must say that working in Uzbekistan is a true pleasure. And not just working, but simply living here. The climate is wonderful, and the people are very friendly and open.

Therefore, I recommend all international companies to come and see everything for themselves. Furthermore, within the framework of the European-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and the Franco-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce, we assist companies, advise them and support those who wish to invest in Uzbekistan.

Country has everything necessary: international schools, modern shops, and shopping centers. Modernity and traditions, Eastern bazaars and new supermarkets are harmoniously combined here. There is absolutely everything.

Therefore, to all investors who are still hesitant, I always say: come, invest in Uzbekistan - you will not be disappointed.

And, of course, I want to congratulate all my Uzbek friends and partners on the 35^th anniversary of independence. I know that Mustaqillik is a holiday on September 1, and, of course, I will be with you in Tashkent to celebrate this important event.
