NAGASAKI, August 10. /Dunyo IA/. Yesterday, diplomats of Uzbekistan took part in the Nagasaki Peace Memorial Ceremony commemorating the victims of the atomic bombing on the 81^st anniversary of the tragedy, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was attended by leaders of the Government of Japan and local authorities, representatives of the diplomatic corps, international organizations, atomic bomb survivors, as well as family members of the victims.

At 11:02 a.m. local time, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the victims of the atomic bombing.

Further during her speech, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi emphasized that Japan would continue international efforts to achieve a world free of nuclear weapons.

Mayor of Nagasaki City, Shiro Suzuki, drew attention to the risks associated with nuclear deterrence policy and called for the strengthening of international dialogue and cooperation.

At the ceremony, special attention was paid to the need to ensure nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, resolve international conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy, pass on the lessons of the atomic bombings to future generations, as well as preserve peace and human dignity.
