First Ambassador of Uzbekistan Presents Credentials to Governor-General of New Zealand

WELLINGTON, April 1. /Dunyo IA/. Alisher Kayumov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Singapore, concurrently accredited to New Zealand, presented his credentials today to the Governor-General of New Zealand, Dame Cindy Kiro, during a formal ceremony at the Government House in Wellington, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The ambassador was received with traditional Maori customs and a military honor guard as part of the official protocol.

During the ceremony and subsequent discussions, both sides reviewed the current state and prospects of steadily developing Uzbekistan-New Zealand relations, including cooperation in political, trade and economic, scientific, educational, and other areas.

Governor-General Dame Cindy Kiro praised the comprehensive reforms implemented under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, highlighting achievements in modernizing public administration, developing civil society, and creating a favorable investment climate for international business.

The discussions emphasized the importance of further strengthening friendly ties, enhancing political dialogue, and expanding practical cooperation across trade, cultural, humanitarian, and other mutually beneficial sectors.

The New Zealand side also expressed willingness to continue collaboration between the parliaments of both countries, as well as in other areas of bilateral engagement.

In conclusion, Governor-General expressed her keen interest in further deepening bilateral relations and conveyed sincere greetings to the leadership and people of Uzbekistan.
