NAMANGAN, August 7. /Dunyo IA/. A Uzbek-Kyrgyz business forum was held in Namangan with the participation of regional manufacturers and entrepreneurs from the Osh, Jalal-Abad and Batken regions of Kyrgyzstan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

A delegation of Kyrgyz entrepreneurs representing companies specialized in the import of food products, textile items, light industry goods, footwear and construction materials was formed to participate in the event.

Within the framework of the visit, the delegation was received by the Deputy Khokim of the Namangan region, Okibjon Inamov. During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of Uzbek-Kyrgyz trade and economic cooperation, issues of expanding mutual trade turnover, implementing joint investment projects, developing industrial cooperation and strengthening partnerships between the business circles of the two countries.

It was noted that the leadership of the Namangan region is ready to continue providing comprehensive assistance to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation with entrepreneurs of Kyrgyzstan, creating favourable conditions for the implementation of joint initiatives.

For the forum participants, a presentation was organized on the export potential and investment opportunities of the Namangan region, followed by visits to the leading industrial enterprises of the region, including “ART SOFT TEX”, “FAZMAN TEXTILE”, “Gidro Plast”, “Megaton”, “Mumtoz”, “Panda Sanoat Savdo”, “Art Ceramics” and other manufacturing companies.

Kyrgyz entrepreneurs familiarized themselves with the production capacities of the enterprises, modern technologies, and export-oriented products. Particular interest was drawn to textile products, confectionery, modern garments, polypropylene pipes and fittings, aerated concrete blocks, cement, as well as canned fruit and vegetable products.

Following the visits to the enterprises, bilateral B2B meetings were held, during which the prospects for expanding interregional trade and economic cooperation, increasing mutual trade volumes, as well as interaction in the fields of agriculture, construction materials production, and tourism were discussed.

It should be noted that along with entrepreneurs from the Namangan region, manufacturers from the Fergana region and the city of Tashkent also participated in the business forum.

Practical result of the forum was the achievement of agreements on signing export contracts for the supply from Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan of mineral fertilizers, polypropylene pipes, fittings, footwear, wallpaper, confectionery, and other products for a total amount of $3.25 million.

Furthermore, the parties agreed to organize an exhibition of products from enterprises of the Namangan region in the city of Osh or Jalal-Abad in September of this year.
