WASHINGTON, August 14. /Dunyo IA/. Several candidates are being considered for the position of White House press secretary following Karoline Leavitt’s departure, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing with “Politico”.

Among the leading contenders for the position are U.S. Chief of Protocol Monica Crowley, CNN commentator Scott Jennings and former Donald Trump campaign spokesperson Jason Miller.

According to the portal, former Trump counsel Alina Habba and White House deputy press secretary Anna Kelly are also among those being considered as potential successors to Karoline Leavitt. However, there is no obvious front-runner at this stage.

It became known the previous day that 28-year-old Karoline Leavitt intends to leave her position. She plans to step down at the end of the month, citing her desire to spend more time with her family. Karoline Leavitt became the youngest White House press secretary in history.

President Donald Trump described her as one of his most trusted aides. White House Communications Director Steven Cheung told “CNN” that she was “one of a kind” and that no one would be able to fully replicate her work.

Her replacement is expected to be a challenging task for the current administration. She not only regularly held press briefings but also helped shape the White House’s public position and provided media advice to the President.

“Politico” emphasizes that Donald Trump has yet to decide on Karoline Leavitt’s successor. It remains possible that the position could remain vacant for some time, including until the November midterm elections for Congress.
