During the meeting, the parties reviewed issues concerning the further improvement of the “Babur” Park and “Tashkent” Street projects, which are being established in the Pakistani capital at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan.

Pakistani side was informed about the Sister Cities Forum scheduled to take place in Uzbekistan in June 2026. Given Islamabad’s sister-city ties with Tashkent and Samarkand, the parties discussed the participation of Islamabad’s administration representatives in the forum, as well as a proposal to sign a new agreement on establishing sister-city relations with the city of Fergana.

Following the negotiations, the parties visited the “Babur” Park construction site - the creation of which was announced during the state visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Pakistan and reviewed the progress of the construction work.

Ambassador of Uzbekistan provided detailed information on the park project and its implementation progress, noting that construction is being carried out under the supervision of Uzbek designers and specialists. He emphasized that eco-friendly plantations and professional landscaping will be used to beautify the territory.

According to the Ambassador, the park will become a future symbol of the enduring friendship and fraternal relations between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Pakistan, as well as their shared historical and cultural ties.

Sohail Ashraf spoke highly of the project and expressed his gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for such an initiative. He noted that upon completion, the park would become one of the most beautiful and modern recreational areas not only in Islamabad but in all of Pakistan.

He also stated that the city administration would provide full support for the project's implementation and expressed interest in engaging Uzbek designers and planners to develop similar urban landscaping concepts.

During the visit to the park, the parties emphasized the importance of preserving existing trees, expanding green spaces and protecting the ecological environment.

Furthermore, Ambassador of Uzbekistan and Chief Commissioner of Islamabad visited the “Tashkent” Street construction site in the Pakistani capital and outlined further tasks for its transformation into an exemplary and modern urban street.
