BERLIN, September 14. /Dunyo IA/. A solemn reception on the occasion of the 35^th Anniversary of the State Independence of the country was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was attended by representatives of German state and parliamentary circles, business, science, the public and the diplomatic corps.

In his welcoming address, Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Dilshod Akhatov, elaborated on the outcomes of the country's 35-year development and the large-scale reforms being implemented in New Uzbekistan. He also noted that Uzbek-German relations have entered a new stage, encompassing trade, economic, investment, technological, educational and humanitarian cooperation.

Guest of honour at the event, Gunther Krichbaum, Minister of State for Europa at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, highly commended the reforms and the policy of openness pursued in Uzbekistan.

“These processes create new opportunities for the further development of relations between Germany and Uzbekistan in the political, economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres”, he noted.

Minister also emphasized the high level of bilateral relations, noting the visit of the Federal President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, to Uzbekistan in June 2026. He paid special attention to the prospects of cooperation in the economy, education and vocational training.

Within the framework of the reception, a German-language special publication titled “Shavkat Mirziyoyev: I Dedicate My Life to My People!”, dedicated to the reforms and development priorities of New Uzbekistan, was presented.

Cultural program featured a performance by the renowned Uzbek pianist Eleonora Kotlyabulatova, accompanied by violinist Michael Levin, national dances, as well as exhibitions by artists Jura Asran and Dmitry Sultanov.

German artist and writer, Princess Sybilla of Prussia (Kretschmer), who previously participated in the Tashkent International Biennale of Contemporary Art, shared her impressions of the festive evening and spoke about the upcoming exhibition dedicated to the anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence.

“It is a great honour for me, together with my colleague, to present our works about your country at an exhibition organized on September 23^rd of this year in connection with the 35^th Anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan. Within the framework of this exhibition, we will also present photographs that were featured in the exhibition held eight years ago in Tashkent. Progress achieved by Uzbekistan today is commendable. And I wholeheartedly congratulate you on this success!”, she said.

A member of the Bayreuth City Council, Karl-Heinz Breitzmann, who visited Uzbekistan as an election observer, emphasized his warm impressions of the country:

- Three years ago, I visited Uzbekistan and immediately fell in love with this beautiful country. Seeing how rapidly Uzbekistan has been developing in recent years evokes my admiration every time.

He also highlighted the activities of the Bavaria-Uzbekistan Cooperation Society aimed at developing interregional ties and promoting Uzbekistan in Germany.

“There are many people in Germany who are open and sincere toward Uzbekistan, - the politician stated. - I am confident that getting to know Uzbekistan and its people will further enrich their understanding of this country. We are very pleased to contribute to raising the visibility of Uzbekistan”.
