ТАSHKENT, July 13. /Dunyo IA/.  Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was briefed on the metal rolling process, which is managed through the integrated control center of the casting and rolling complex at the Uzbek Metallurgical Plant, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of our State, in recent years, particular attention has been paid to modernizing the plant and expanding its production capacity. As a result, the company's net profit is projected to increase from $14 million in 2017 to $23 million in 2025.

The cornerstone for the construction of the casting and rolling complex was laid by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his visit to Bekabad on August 29, 2018.

The project, with a total cost of $839 million, occupies an area of 18 hectares and is of strategic importance in meeting the country's growing demand for metal products.

The complex is expected to increase total production to 2 million tons, additionally produce 1.04 million tons of coiled sheet steel annually, and expand the plant's workforce to 7,000 employees.

At the complex, drawing on the expertise of the Italian company Danieli, the continuous steel casting unit has, for the first time, been integrated with all technological equipment and is managed through a single control console.

Under the previous technology, production processes had to be managed from four to five control consoles operated by nine employees. Today, thanks to the unified management system, the entire process is controlled by just three specialists.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the need to integrate artificial intelligence technologies into the unified management system and further enhance the stability and economic efficiency of the complex.

In terms of operational safety and equipment performance, the complex is unique and has no equivalent in Central Asia. In particular, the main rolls can be replaced automatically in just 5 to 7 minutes, without interrupting the production process or requiring human intervention, compared to 30 to 40 minutes under the previous system.

Head of Statae also reviewed samples of products manufactured from rolled metal sheets.

Reports from responsible officials were also heard. In particular, the President was briefed on the value-added chain in the production of hot-rolled steel sheets and on products recommended for localization in the country.

Practical measures were also presented to regulate the circulation of rebar products in the construction sector, strengthen control over the use of ferrous metal products at construction sites, and reduce seismic risks.
