Regions of Uzbekistan and Rostov Region of Russia strengthen business and humanitarian ties

ROSTOV-ON-DON, June 26. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats from the General Consulate of Uzbekistan held a meeting with Governor of the Rostov Region of Russia Yuri Slyusar, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the negotiations, special attention was paid to expanding trade and economic interaction, developing industrial cooperation, and implementing joint investment projects. Issues of cooperation in the field of education, including secondary vocational and technical education, as well as personnel training and tourism development were also reviewed.
Particular attention was paid to expanding direct ties between the regions of Uzbekistan and the Rostov Region, as well as activating business exchanges and the participation of Russian enterprises in investment projects within Uzbekistan's special economic zones.
Following the meeting, a number of agreements were reached. Specifically, the sides plan to organize business missions between their respective corporate communities, develop cooperation in the field of labour migration involving relevant institutional bodies and expand interaction between secondary vocational education institutions.
It was also decided to prepare an updated action plan for 2027–2028 within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the Rostov and Jizzakh regions, which was signed in 2021.
Furthermore, plans are underway to explore the establishment of an exhibition and trade pavilion for products from Rostov manufacturers within the “Ayritom” Free Trade Zone in Termez, alongside the boosting of cooperation in the tourism sector.
A separate point of discussion was the proposal to organize a visit by the Governor of the Rostov Region Yuri Slyusar, to Uzbekistan in the spring of 2027.
