Russian Media highlight Economic Ties of Uzbekistan with SCO Countries

SAINT PETERSBURG, August 30. /Dunyo IA/. Russian publications “Russia News” and “News of Russia” have highlighted in their articles the expansion of Uzbekistan’s trade and economic ties with the countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Publications note that Uzbekistan’s trade turnover with SCO countries increased 3.1-fold in 2017–2025, reaching $40.6 billion, while investment inflows from the Organization’s Member States amounted to $17.5 billion in 2025. China, Russia and Kazakhstan remain the country’s main trading partners.
Development of transport corridors, including the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan and Uzbekistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan railways, remains an important area of cooperation. At the same time, Uzbekistan is putting forward new initiatives in technology, energy and the processing of critical materials.
At the 2025 Tianjin Summit, the SCO Development Strategy until 2035 was adopted and a decision was made to establish the SCO Development Bank. The next stage of cooperation will focus on implementing joint investment, infrastructure and industrial projects.
