TEHRAN, September 24. /Dunyo IA/.   A presentation of the book “The Greatness of the Nation” (“Millat shavkati”) was held in Tehran, co-organized by the Cultural Institute of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was attended by compatriots residing in Iran, members of the diplomatic corps, officials, scholars, academics, as well as representatives of scientific and creative institutions.

During the presentation, participants were introduced to excerpts from the book and materials detailing the reforms implemented and currently underway in New Uzbekistan over the past decade under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, along with their outcomes.

Attendees were also presented with video materials dedicated to the rich historical and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, its socio-economic development and tourism potential.

President of the ECO Cultural Institute Mohammad Khansari, noted the special place of Uzbekistan as one of the key cultural crossroads of the region, describing the country as a vital link connecting the Turkic world, Persian culture and South Asia.

Special attention was focused on the personality of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur and his significance for cultural interaction between Central and South Asia, as well as the role of Samarkand, Bukhara and Andijan in the intellectual life of the region.

President of the Iranian Iranology Association Mahmoud Jafari and representatives of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization emphasized the historical and cultural proximity between Iran and Uzbekistan, highlighting the country's rich heritage, traditions of Shashmaqam, Navruz and family values, as well as the contributions of Rudaki, Ibn Sina, Beruni and Alisher Navoiy to strengthening friendship.

In conclusion, a copy of the book “The Greatness of the Nation” was presented as a gift to the ECO Cultural Institute, where it is planned to be placed in a prominent location within the library for readers to access.

Furthermore, an agreement was reached to translate the book into the Persian language with the assistance of the Institute and to ensure its wide distribution across the ECO member states.
