SAMARKAND, October 20. /Dunyo IA/. Tim Woodbury, Head of Government Relations at the American company “Armada”, shared his assessments of the investment climate in Uzbekistan and the prospects for cooperation in the high-tech sector with a correspondent of Dunyo Information Agency.
- This is my first time in Uzbekistan, and first and foremost, I would like to note how welcoming this country is. I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Samarkand, especially the opportunity to explore its historic center and experience its unique atmosphere. The people here are remarkably friendly and open, which certainly creates a highly favourable first impression of the country.
From a business perspective, Uzbekistan presents itself as a nation keen on developing partnerships with leading global enterprises, including American businesses. I see substantial potential here for expanding interaction and implementing new joint projects.
Our company operates in the high-tech sector and specializes in the manufacture of modular data centers. I represent San Francisco, California - one of the world's largest hubs for technological innovation. Therefore, as Uzbekistan continues to advance its technological footprint and digital infrastructure while striving to implement modern solutions, our company is certainly interested in exploring avenues for cooperation.
Naturally, issues such as the quality of the legal and regulatory framework, tax policy, ease of doing business and other economic factors are of great importance to investors. However, in my view, the relationships between people and the willingness of parties to engage in an open and constructive dialogue are no less and often even more, critical.
Yesterday evening, I had the opportunity to meet with the Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan. I was deeply impressed by his genuine interest in fostering cooperation with American enterprises and his dedication to creating new opportunities for technological partnership.
This, in my view, is the key to successful collaboration. Ultimately, many aspects of business come down to human relations, mutual trust, and a shared readiness to work together. When such mutual understanding and commitment to partnership exist, they establish a solid foundation for long-term cooperation and the implementation of tangible investment and technological projects.
