“Tribune”: New Tashkent is being built as a separate urban cluster next to the current capital

ASTANA, May 25. /Dunyo IA/. Representatives of the companies 'AL-BINA Development' and 'UET Construction' held a large-scale “Urban Tour” for the first time across the territory of New Tashkent, one of Central Asia's largest urban development projects, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing with the Kazakh news outlet “Tribune”.

The organizers described the event as an “immersive introduction” to the future city, which is set to become a new point of growth for the capital.

New Tashkent is being built as a separate urban cluster next to the current capital. The development area will exceed 20,000 hectares, with the population projected to reach over 2.5 million people. The project is based on the “15-minute city” concept, which ensures that housing, work, education and public spaces are accessible within a short timeframe.

One of the key landmarks will be a fountain complex, set to become one of the largest in the world. The central fountain's height will exceed 230 meters, while a circular water screen will stretch across 185 meters. The project features 360-degree projections, laser shows and multimedia installations.

Plans for New Tashkent also feature a 55,000-capacity stadium fully compliant with FIFA standards. The venue is anticipated to host the U-20 World Cup as one of its inaugural major sporting events.

Particular emphasis is placed on the transit network. A 21-kilometer metro line encompassing nine stations will link the new district with Tashkent, aimed at seamlessly connecting the city's administrative, residential and public sectors.

The final stop of the tour was the “Crystal Avenue” project, which is being jointly developed by “AL-BINA Development” and “UET Construction”. This business-class complex features residential buildings, commercial facilities, pedestrian zones, and public spaces. It is being constructed near the “New Uzbekistan” University and the National Library, which form part of the country's future educational cluster.

New Tashkent project is viewed as part of a large-scale modernization strategy for the capital, aimed at developing infrastructure, transport and creating a modern regional center.
