Three Children of Compatriots Serving Sentences in Russia Repatriated to Uzbekistan

• 165KAZAN, September 13. /Dunyo IA/. With the assistance of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan, three minor children of Uzbek nationals serving sentences in Russia’s Republic of Mordovia and Samara Region have been successfully repatriated to Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The process was carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the competent Russian authorities.
Diplomats established the children’s citizenship, identified close relatives in Uzbekistan, assessed the conditions for their further placement and completed the necessary documentation for their return.
Following the completion of the procedures, the children were received by diplomats of the Consulate General from children’s homes located at correctional facilities and handed over to representatives of the MFA of Uzbekistan for their return home.
The Consulate General noted that the repatriation of minor Uzbek citizens from children’s homes at Russian correctional facilities is being carried out on a systematic basis.
